Partnering with the ADL Job Performance Technology Center

ADL is about more than just SCORM. The ADL initiative is about creating truly advanced distributed learning. One of its latest thrusts is the ADL Job Performance Technology Center. The JPTC is working to tightly integrate the SCORM specification for online training with the S1000D specification for product documentation to create a single trusted source for the latest information. This integration is highly relevant for organizations such as the military that deal with hugely complex systems, like vehicles and weapons. The maintainers of these systems go through extensive training and also rely heavily on reference manuals. The JPTC SCORM-S1000D Testbed is searching for a way to integrate these training procedures with these reference manuals to create a single authoritative place for information, increase efficiency and reduce the possibility for inconsistent data.
Rustici Software has been brought on as a partner in this effort. The JPTC Testbed will have fully access to our SCORM Engine, SCORM Driver and SCORM Test Track...as well as to our expertise. These tools are the best thing available for integrating SCORM into existing systems. They should prove invaluable in linking S1000D systems with SCORM training.

Test Track is Live

Yesterday we publicly launched the much anticipated Test Track application (http://testtrack.scorm.com). I'm excited to report that we already have 89 users in the system and lots of complimentary / thankful emails. Both the number of user and emails seem to be growing by the hour. So far the application has been a great success and we hope it will continue to serve the ADL SCORM community well into the future. We've had a number of inquiries about purchasing locally installable instances of Test Track so we're busy making some tweaks and generating an installer to make this possible. Please be patient with us, we should have something ready soon. In the meantime, check it out, tell us what you think and tell a friend.
