SCORM 2004 3rd Edition is on Test Track
1.22.2007 - Mike Rustici We're proud to announce that the SCORM Test Track was the first LMS officially certified by ADL as conforming to SCORM 2004 3rd Edition. These changes are now released and available on the public SCORM Test Track site at http://testtrack.scorm.com. We even included a feature that allows you to switch between 2nd and 3rd Editions to see how your content will behave in each environment. To access this setting, look under the "Compatibility Settings" tab of the "Course Properties" section.

1000 Users and Growing

We didn't really know what to expect when we released our SCORM Test Track tool about six months ago. We thought it was a great tool and we knew that, if nothing else, it would help us internally. We really had no idea how many other people would be interested in it or benefit from it. Turns out, there's quite a few. Recently, our 1000th user signed up. The number of people using SCORM continues to amaze us. Since we began tracking usage statistics, our users have performed approximately 10,000 tests of their SCORM conformant courseware. What makes us most proud is that we've heard of very few problems in all that courseware. We pride ourselves on having the most compatible SCORM player on the market in our SCORM Engine. This SCORM Test Track usage both validates the results of our hard work and helps us to continue to improve. We will be making some improvements and adding even more features to Test Track soon. SDA Studio Kft :: SCORM Certified for 1.2 and 2004

Congratulations are in order for SDA Studio Kftas well. In November, they completed the SCORM 2004 2nd Edition Certification of their Neptun.Net platform. This follows their prior SCORM 1.2 Certification in November 2005. SDA Studio Kft is the leading provider of online training in Hungary and has made perfect use of the multiple standard support found in the SCORM Engine. SDA Studio Kft also served as the impetus for the inclusion of the multi-lingual capability now found in all installations of the SCORM Engine.
From a personal perspective, I find the work we did with SDA Studio Kft fascinating. Ten years ago, we never could have found each other. Today, we were able to complete a full SCORM implementation in the context of their existing application from thousands of miles away without meeting face to face on a single occasion.
Congratulations to SDA Studio Kft on their accomplishment and dual certification.

Webstudy :: SCORM 2004 Certified on the SCORM Engine
I want to offer congratulations to one of our customers, Webstudy, on their SCORM 2004 Certification in October of last year. Webstudy brings a unique perspective from its close alliances with college consortia. By listening to instructors and administrators that make up the consortia, Webstudy brings experience and real needs from educators. In particular, Webstudy's eminence in the higher education space is exciting to us at Rustici Software.
As the schools made it apparent to Webstudy that SCORM was important, they hired a consultant to assess various options for the implementation. Options included internal development, contract programming, and a third party solution. Ultimately, they concluded that a third party product offered many benefits (on this, we certainly agree). To find the most effective third party SCORM engine, Webstudy's consultant reviewed possible providers, conducted interviews, and issued an RFI to potential providers. The conclusion from the work with consultant was clear, "After review and analysis, Rustici is the best suited to perform the integration. (Name Omitted) appears to be a viable candidate. (Another Name Omitted) is attractive due to price, however the product does not have the same feature set as Rustici and (Name Omitted), therefore the price comparison is not comparatively equal."
While various versions of the SCORM Engine have been installed in more than 40 LMS's worldwide, Webstudy took the initiative to independently achieve certification for their product. The SCORM Engine is currently running in production as part of Webstudy's CMS Version 8.0. We offer them congratulations on the certification and thanks for their support of SCORM in general and the SCORM Engine in particular.
